About

Scozia Horse Trekking offers people without horse access the chance to connect, learn and ride. Our philosophy is simple: horses are partners, not tools. Sessions focus on trust, confidence and harmony, with safety, welfare and enjoyment at the core. Whether exploring the Pentland Hills or improving your riding, every experience is calm, positive and rewarding for both horse and rider.

Each rider will be assessed before the activity, and must inform me of their riding level in advance. (Scozia is the Italian word for Scotland)

We brought our children, aged 5 and 7, to the "A pony as a friend" experience. First they groom the pony, then go for a long ride, and then some more grooming at the end. The fact that it includes the grooming is a really nice part because it makes it more about caring for the animals rather than it being like a fairground ride. Crissie explained a lot about Rain's needs and how she communicates, it felt very sincere. Then the trek was up into the foothills of the Pentlands, lovely scenery, including passing through fields of bright yellow flowers.
I very highly recommend this experience, and my kids do too!

Thanks to Crissie, I had an unforgettable experience. The hour-and-a-half horseback ride in the national park with Crissie went by so quickly. I saw many breathtaking views, and I now have lots of beautiful photos and videos as memories. I also had the chance to pet a Shetland pony and received a lovely souvenir gift.

If you are looking for a horseback riding experience for yourself or your children, I can only highly recommend Crissie. You can find them just 20 minutes by car from Edinburgh.

Thank you once again for this unique experience.

We had an amazing time with Crissie and Rain. Crissie is a very thoughtful person who clearly cares very much for the wellbeing of her horses. I think her approach on how to interact with horses is one that other stables in the Edinburgh could learn from. Too often have we seen poor horses being used for riding without care for their wellbeing. We felt the complete opposite with Crissie. We'll definitely be back.
